June Jump

After School Discovery

June Jump

We are bound to get that break into Spring / Summer weather that we are all waiting for one of these days! The extras for the backpack should shift. The “what to bring” list will include things like sunscreen, bug repellent, water shoes, sun hat, water bottle, dry clothes… But when oh when will those days finally arrive?!!!

The last day at Stowe Elementary School will be June 12 for our Kindergartners. The rest will continue to a half day on June 14. Our goal is to provide programming for everyone. I will be offering Kindergartners a fun Full Day Discovery at Playground 2,000 on the 13th and another Full Day Discovery at the Waterbury Reservoir on the 14th. We will also hold After School as usual on the 13th and we will offer a Half Day Discovery for 1st graders and up to join us at the Reservoir on the 14th. In order to plan to successfully meet this goal, we will need families to register soon so that we can confirm our staff needs. CLICK HERE to register for these programs on June 13 and 14.

Mondays: Zumba Kids continues along with homework club and backyard fun.
Tuesdays: If this rain lets up, fishing will involve visits to fishing holes such as Cotton Brook. We could take a little longer and return to Apple Tree by 5:15. Let me know if you prefer that we continue to get back by 5:00.
Wednesdays: Swimming and baking.
Thursdays: Walk & Roll. (Bikes, scooters, roller blades welcome.)
Fridays: Tee Pee Pow Wow. (Forest & Beach) We hope to enjoy a fire-side picnic, and try to return to civilization by 5:00. If you need your villager before then, please call and we will come meet you on the rec. path. Water shoes, sunscreen, bug repellent recommended soon.

Stowe Summer Camp: Registrations have been rolling in, but many spaces are still available. See Schedule, info. and online registration on our website: CLICK HERE

Tick Reminder!
Tick checks are our best defense against Lyme disease. Saving the tick to possibly have it checked for Lyme is also recommended. We will begin to play in forest, field, and stream whenever we can. After School Discovery will expose us to ticks including deer ticks. Please be sure to include a thorough tick search DAILY as part of your bathing and hygiene habit. After School Discovery 2019-20: Apple Tree Learning Centers is raising tuition for next year. We will charge $24 per day and $110 per week. Currently we are full with a wait-list. We will begin finalizing enrollment after June 3rd. Welcome letters will come out very soon thereafter. Please be sure to read your welcome letter and submit your contract to continue to secure your place for next year.

Please check out our website. We have photos and all the links you need.
As always, any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to be in touch.
