Registration will go live to all current Apple Tree families on March 31st at 6pm. We have very limited spaces available and expect this program to fill very quickly. It is critical that you register as soon as registration opens to secure a space.  Please be sure to join the waitlist if the space you need is full. . If you need assistance registering please email me a request as soon as possible before March 31st at 12pm.

Staffing:
We have amazing new educators joining afterschool.  Riley, Abby and Emory will most often be at MES.  Starting Monday, February 3rd, Kacey, our veteran Apple Tree teacher and outdoor educator, will most often be at SES. Kacey and I worked together at SES the very first year we offered an Afterschool program here.  I am excited to see our students try a variety of new activities and experiences Kacey will bring. Please take a moment to say hello if you have not met her yet.

New Offsite Activity on Tuesdays:  Cross Country Skiing!
We have had fun XC Skiing at Trapps on School Vacation Days.  Now we would like to try XC skiing after school on Tuesdays. If the activity is full, be sure to join the waitlist.   We need exactly six skiers to make this program run. Register online HERE

February Fun includes the Stowe Derby!  Sunday February 23, 2025
The Stowe Derby is one of the oldest and most unique ski races in North America. We are continuing the Apple Tree Tradition of supporting the children who join the short course again this year. Families can learn more and register online HERE. Please let me know if you are interested. We need skiers, supporters and spectators!

Afterschool Activities:
Winter is in full swing and you can often find us careening down the sledding hill and building forts in the snow banks. But this continues to be a cold Winter and we are also following careful protocols based on wind chill or “feels like” temperatures to determine when, where, and how long our young children will play outside. Please remember children need all necessary outdoor gear every day and a water bottle for afterschool. If you need assistance accessing warm clothing for your child, please email me with sizes needed.  With Kacey’s help, students will have a chance to enjoy cooking, STEM projects, beading, Perler beads, and many more activities indoors.  Outside our visits to the Hillside Forts, the stream, and the Forest Fort continue to evolve with the weather.  I will continue to walk children up to the rink for hockey on Wednesdays.  The After Friday Program is working well.
