In 1998, Apple Tree Learning Centers established one of the first year-round private childcare and preschool facilities in Stowe, Vermont. Childcare and preschool was at the foundation of our original programming.
Over the years, we have expanded our offerings for children and families who live in the Stowe area, as well as vacationers and visitors to Stowe. Today, Apple Tree Learning Centers offers one of the most comprehensive programs for kids 12 years and younger in the area.
APPLE TREE HISTORY
Apple Tree Learning Centers Early Education Facility was established as a private Early Education Facilities/preschool in January,1998. Originally named Stowe Kids Company, the name was changed in 2001 when Apple Tree Learning Centers Early Education Facility built an addition to expand its current space at 1056 Mountain Road And opened a new kindergarten program.
In 2002, Apple Tree Learning Centers Early Education Facility expanded its infant and toddler classes and initiated programs for school aged children. In 2005, Stowe Summer Camp was opened as well as partnerships with hotels to offer programming to visitors. In 2009, Apple Tree became NAEYC Accredited, the highest national recognition of quality given to a center. Apple Tree Learning Centers Early Education Facility strives to develop and introduce programs that best serve the needs of the greater Stowe community and families who visit the area. In 2009, Apple Tree expanded capacity in our preschool program and moved the Infant program to our main location and the creation of the Bridge program (older two and younger three year olds) was created.
In 2011, Apple Tree Learning Centers Early Education Facility became a Licensed Public Pre-K Partner. In 2016, Apple Tree Learning Centers Early Education Facility expanded once again and was able to move The After School Program to our main location. In 2019, Apple Tree Learning Centers Early Education Facility opened an additional After School Program at the Stowe Elementary School. In 2022, our After School Program at the Elementary School became a 5 STAR Program.
In 2023, Apple Tree Learning Centers was approached by LSSU’s Superintendent and asked to be a partner. This partnership includes opening an After School Program at Morrisville elementary school as well as an After Care Program for Preschool in Morrisville, and hopefully Stowe in the near future. In 2023, Apple Tree began expanding the Mountain Road location to include 40 new students per day ranging from infants through preschool.
