Andrea Soberman, early childhood educator, preschool specialist, and Director of Musical Munchkins with Andrea® in Vermont is pleased to be offering her music program to the students of Apple Tree daycare in Stowe, Vt. Miss Andrea, as her students call her by, opened her first Musical Munchkins® school in Orange County, NY in January of 1993. Andrea graduated from Brooklyn College with a degree in Early Childhood Education and graduate studies in music and art. In 2018, Miss Andrea moved to Waterbury, Vermont, and opened up her well-loved classes in her new hometown. She has since expanded to other Vermont locations in Stowe, and Waitsfield, as well as offering virtual classes online. Andrea has given workshops at local early childhood education conferences and has performed at many libraries, childcare’s, and nursery school programs throughout the Hudson Valley New York, and Vermont as well as performing at birthday parties in 2018 she recorded her first children’s album- Happy House with Miss Andrea and friends. “ Her curriculum consists of age-appropriate activities for each of our age levels in school, in which all children are introduced to drums and a variety of percussion instruments, original, traditional as well as musical selections from around the world, songs, finger plays, song stories, flannel board stories, puppets, movement, dance, while accompanied by guitar and quality recorded selections. “After 29 years teaching music, I am still passionate about facilitating music with young children. I feel truly blessed to be able to be part of their musical journey and to have had the opportunity to watch the unbridled joy, laughter, love, and learning that making music brings.
